Visitor Information Centres
Look out for the distinctive blue and yellow 'i' sign as you travel around Victoria. The sign is a pointer to a Visitor Information Centre, part of a network of accredited information centres across the state.

Melbourne Greeter Service
In the same location as the Melbourne Information Centre, the Melbourne Greeter Service is a free half-day walking orientation of the city. Visitors are matched with volunteer greeters according to language, age and interests. The service, which is available daily, should be booked at least three working days in advance.

City Ambassadors Melbourne's award-winning city ambassadors are another good source of city information. Dressed in distinctive red uniforms, the ambassadors rove the retail centre of the city, dispensing directions or simply lending visitors a hand.

The City Circle Tram service provides a free and convenient way to get around central Melbourne. The City Circle Tram travels around the city and links with other tram, train and light rail services in and around Melbourne. The tram will take you past shopping malls and arcades, and major attractions such as the Old Treasury Building, Parliament House and the Princess Theatre. To catch the free City Circle Tram service, just wait at any of the specially marked stops on the route. Trams run in both directions every ten minutes, seven days a week between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm and during daylight saving extended hours, 10.00 am-9.00 pm every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday Market at the Victorian Arts Centre
Local artisans unite under a canopy of Brunswick green canvas umbrellas to create this bustling Sunday market. Vendors sell only handmade Australian goods like timber frames, unusual hats, decoupage, wrought-iron work and more.

Camberwell Market is a Sunday institution with over 350 stalls ranging from antiques to collectibles, bric-a-brac and clothing.

Taxis are available at an approximate cost of $45 depending on traffic conditions. Skybus services operate every 15 minutes between 6.15 am - 7.30 pm then half hourly.
