The Australian and New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science (ANZSRS) complies with the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2001, effective 21 December 2001.
Personal information, as defined by the Act, about Members, applicants for membership, or individuals submitting abstracts for scientific meetings, will only be used for the purposes collected and in accordance with the rules and objectives of the Society.
The ANZSRS requires parties who request personal information to apply in writing, stating the purpose for which the information is to be used, and to declare that it too has a compliant privacy policy. Each request for information is assessed, and only acceded to if it is judged to be of value to Members.
Personal information is held by the Secretary. Members may check the accuracy of, and update their details at any time by contacting the Secretary ANZSRS, .
